Before joining ranks with the PPI Group, Jeff served six years in the Coast Guard as an electronic technician then worked part time at PPI while earning a Business degree at Mt Hood Community College. Since he started with the company performing instrument repairs in 1985, Jeff has been a solid PPI team member and has remained an expert on the leading edge of machine control technology. He has been selling, supporting and training on laser, slope and sonic based 2D machine control and 3D GPS, robotic machine control equipment to the A/E/C/S industries of Oregon and Washington for over three decades. With his Portland roots Jeff is a premier northwest machine control specialist, trusted and sought after by his customers.
PPI recruited Ken in 1999. After leading a team of sales professionals in Canada, Ken and his family moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest to further pursue his career in Survey Sales. Over the years Ken slowly resorted to more of an office executive position with occasional sightings in the field with his team of sales personnel. Ken and his family enjoy many activities that the Northwest has to offer such as fishing, wine tours, golfing, wine tours, craft beers and not to mention wine tours.
As a native Oregonian, Trish started with PPI in 2006 bringing with her over 20 years of experience in a financial/accounting role. 18 of those years would be in the Autodesk world, coming from a prominent Autodesk reseller. Trish currently manages the Accounting Department and works closely with management and principals on various projects. When not working she loves spending time with friends, family and Claire, her 9 year old Yorkshire Terrier. To clear her head from numbers, Trish can be found hitting the Oregon Sand Dunes riding her RZR 1000.
Heather joined PPI’s Accounting Department in 2008. Utilizing her 20 years of experience she oversees Accounts Receivable as well as Credit & Collections. A North Portland native, now living across the river in Vancouver, WA with her husband and son, Heather enjoys camping and exploring our beautiful Pacific Northwest with family and friends. When not out exploring, crafts, jewelry projects and Pinterest inspired creations fill her spare time – and of course vacationing at Disneyland and hopefully other Disney Parks in the near future.
Pennie joined the PPI team January of 2018. She has earned 30 years of experience working in various administrative positions from legal secretary to medical documentation and editing. She is now an integral part of our Training program as “flight control”, keeping trainers and class schedules running like clockwork. You can always find her friendly smile and helping hand wherever the action is.
Alisa joined the PPI family in mid 2014, we knew instantly she was a perfect fit. Alisa is native to the Pacific NW and has been in the accounting world for the past 20 plus years. Previously she used her accounting degree in the trucking and marine industries. She has been married for over 16 years, she has no children, but she has two Blue Heelers, Steilacoom and Gus, that keep her busy. On her time off from The PPI Group she enjoys live music, scrapbooking, and Road trips.
Sara is an Oregon native with a Bachelors degree in Marketing and Advertising from Portland State University. After college Sara started as a sales assistant and quickly learned she had an eye for design. She developed her skills through work projects and became a self-taught web designer. Based on her skill set, Sara became an instructional designer creating engaging, interactive e-learning courses. Her design skills continued to grow and eventually led her to the PPI Group’s marketing team were she manages all visual aspects including online and print materials.
Joel started with the PPI Group in January of 2016. Prior to that, he worked at The Home Depot across various departments from lumber to appliances over the course of eight years. Joel enjoys his work at PPI where he manages the Portland OR facility’s shipping and receiving area, assists with ensuring inventory accuracy, helps with building security and takes on additional responsibilities as opportunities present themselves. When he’s not making the day easier for someone at PPI, he likes spending time with his wife and their dog, often at a local coffee shop or community event.
Jody has been with The PPI Group for more than 6 years behind the scenes in the Software Department where she handles the order processing, billing and general customer service and helping her sales people stay on top of things. Her previous experience in Sales and Customer Services benefits her position with the PPI Team. When Jody is not working she enjoys having fun with friends and family, travelling, gardening, creating…and junking for old treasures to make into something new.
As the youngest member of the PPI Sales Team, Tanner is looking forward to learning all there is to know about the precision technology world. He has been with the company since June of 2015, and currently works as the Inside Sales Coordinator at the Kent office. When he’s not selling lasers, Tanner enjoys spending time at the golf course and playing guitar.
Teena brought twenty years construction industry experience with her when joining the PPI team in 2008. Her procurement position with a construction company provided a solid foundation for her role in purchasing at the PPI Group. An engaged people person and love of the industry, Teena finds her job entertaining, challenging and rewarding! Her favorite things outside of work are her children and grandchildren. She enjoys refinishing furniture, baking, sewing, & knitting.
Collin started with PPI in 2004, and is the Equipment Sales Manager at the Kent office. He has excellent product knowledge on all the survey and construction positioning products, as well as the associated software to operate. His time in this industry, along with his prior field experience as a project engineer, give him the ability to recommend products based on application, not just features. He enjoys helping customers improve their business and productivity using the systems we provide.
A native of Portland, Dan has been employed at PPI since 2003. He is a member of the PPI BIM Team, LSAW, PLSO and NWUCA and enjoys working with precision technology, bringing solutions to a variety of industries. Dan is married to his high school sweetheart with whom he enjoys a daughter, newborn son and four footed family members too. He bowls as a member of the USBC in a local league and has had the opportunity to compete in several state and national tournaments. A man of many talents, he has learned to juggle and ride a 6’ unicycle, was previously a member of the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol and was certified as an EMT Basic. Dan says the most intense things he has done were bungee jumping off a 200’ bridge, back country skiing in Colorado and driving a NASCAR Stock car 155mph around the Miami-Dade speedway.
Paul Rydell has 30 years of experience in the Surveying and Construction sales market. A member of both the PLSO and LSAW he has assisted in both Oregon and Washington with events and conferences. He also serves on the ACEC Membership Committee for the state of Oregon. In 2014 he was awarded “Special Member of the Year” by the Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon.
A navy veteran and native of Washington, Jerry enjoys living with his wife and children near Seattle. He has deep northwest roots, spending his free time with family or on his hobbies – hiking, fishing, hunting and watching football. He is committed to supporting community development and is a member of LSAW, AGC and NUCA of Washington. Since joining the PPI Group in 2014 Jerry has enjoyed his position of Survey / Construction Sales Manager where he likes training customers on new technology and bringing them solutions that help increase productivity while decreasing costs.
Heather B. came to PPI Group in 2006 and has a combined total of 20 years of customer service in various markets. Her first job was as a courtesy clerk at Fred Meyer when she was just 15 years old. Heather works in our repair service department helping customers with their repair and rental needs. She has enjoyed building her relationships with her customers and co-workers over the last 11 years. Although she considers herself a Portlander, she is a California native and has lived in many states on the West Coast growing up. In her spare time she loves to read, knit, watch college football (Go Ducks!), and spend time with her friends and family.
A Geomatics technical veteran, Andrey has been applying his skills at the PPI Group for over a decade. He is trained and certified by Topcon and spends his days working with laser equipment performing service and repairs. He enjoys working with the friendly knowledgeable people on the PPI team and his favorite part of work is communicating with customers.
Mark has been a part of the PPI team since 2012. He has been in the electronic repair industry for 25+ years and currently works in PPI’s Portland repair department where he specializes in laser and machine control calibration. When not at work, Mark enjoys playing with his two small pups, playing drums, studying nutrition and traveling the great NW.
Fresh from Benson Technical High School with a major in machine shop technology, Ted started working at the PPI Group forty-four years ago and has advanced through the ranks to his current position of Service Department Manager. With experience repairing equipment from old style open frame antique models to the most precise equipment in use today, Ted brings a significant skill set to the team and participates in numerous factory training programs to keep up with the advances in technology. In his spare time he enjoys restoring his vintage Volvo sports car and cross country touring on his motorcycle.
Les Guymon has over thirty years of experience in the fluid power industry. His expertise lies in hydraulic troubleshooting, system design, fabrication and installations. Les’ role at PPI reflects his area of training and specialty where he is a Machine Control Installer.
In construction for 17 years prior to coming to PPI, Jesse was a Project Manager, a Superintendent, and in the field as a Grade Engineer. He has worked and managed jobs ranging from 1 to 350 million so understands the importance of job cost and managing productions to meet budgets, and schedules. Grade control is a natural next step in his construction repertoire so he has positioned himself to know how the technology works, how to apply it in the field and is training others to use it. He loves the civil engineering side of construction and has focused his talents there.
As our resident laser scanning equipment expert, Richard provides sales, training, support and customer service. He also serves as our Manufacture Relations Manager and 3D Laser Scanning Director. Now in his 6th year of employment with PPI, Richard enjoys providing cutting edge workflow development for various industries in Oregon and Washington. Richard is a family man who enjoys attending church and exploring the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. In his free time he likes to fish, hunt, or go spear fishing. He also enjoys hitting the links and practicing his golf game on the weekends.
Curtis Huggins joined the industry 18 years ago. He started and worked with a local Portland Data Systems company for just under a decade before being recruited to Tennessee by a competing company in the industry. Curtis now has over fifteen years of experience in coordinating, support, and training roles within the Construction Equipment and Surveying industry. Currently, Curtis works for the PPI Geomatics Division. He supports and trains on the survey and construction software. Curtis finds PPI a great fit and is proud to work here.
Hugo has worked for PPI Group since 2001 as the Senior Service Technician. He enjoys all his teammates and likes to make people smile. On his time away from work he likes to go to as many soccer games as he can. So far Hugo has been to 2 world cup games. He used to play soccer in his younger days. He also likes to go on hikes and spend time with friends.
Zach started with PPI Group in April 2016 as the logistics coordinator of the Kent Washington store. He began training for his position as a machine control technician a year later and became a full-time technician in April 2018. Now trained and certified by Topcon in 3DMC, Zach is quickly gaining experience in the field with assistance from the PPI support team. When he’s not at work you can find him trekking up the snowcapped mountains of the Pacific Northwest.
Edwin Schuldt has over forty years of experience working in the laser repair field. His training reflects his role at PPI, where he works in repair of Machine control and Laser equipment. He was trained in the first group of Laser Repair Technicians at Laser Alignment in 1977. Edwin was also a member of an early group of Topcon Laser Technicians as well as the first group of Topcon Machine Control Technicians.
Shorty has been deemed by many as the most knowledgeable and experienced machine control specialist in all of North America.
Alex first heard of the PPI Group from one of his instructors at Bates Technical College where he graduated with an electronics degree. He joined the company over 17 years ago as repair technician, and has developed his skills working with Lasers, GPS, Total Stations, Machine Control and more. Today, as the Seattle location's Service Manager, Alex is skilled at servicing a full range of equipment. Alex has fun learning something new every day and loves his job working with Geomatics Technology.
Ian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication with an emphasis in International Business which serves him well as Account Executive on PPI’s Software Solutions team. He has a passion for helping clients identify obstacles in their current workflows and working collaboratively with them to find a solution that will help improve their business. His greatest joy is a happy and satisfied customer. Ian is a member of CSI, APWA, and ACEC. When he’s not working, Ian enjoys playing sports of all kinds, fantasy football, and spending time with family and friends.
Hope joined The PPI Group in May of 2017 after working for another reseller for over 10 years. She has a strong background of working with Autodesk and understanding their products and processes. She worked heavily in the government side of products and sympathic to the complex buying cycles that government entities require. Her work history has included Landscape Design, Architectural Design, Electrical Drafting and Civil Drafting. Hope lives in Spokane Washington and loves the diverse beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Taunia has been around the construction industry since childhood and has been working in the AEC industry for over fourteen years. With her father the owner of a drywall company and grandfather a gypsum warehouse owner, a role in the industry comes naturally. She started on the technical side in product support before moving into sales and has sold software solutions to companies around the world. She is excited to be working for a local company and building relationships with companies throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Jake joined The PPI Group in 2014 as an Account Manager, serving customers in Oregon and Southern Washington, by finding the right Autodesk and Bluebeam solutions for their company’s workflows. He is adept at helping his clients increase efficiencies and build their profitability through BIM processes. A native of Oregon, Jake enjoys building relationships with AEC firms who are working to develop the Pacific NW’s buildings and infrastructure and is proud of being employed at a local company that has been in business for 90 years!
Charlie is enthusiastic to learn the AEC industry working alongside PPI veterans. A Central Washington Graduate in the study of philosophy, he is eager to assist customers with current challenges and growth plans. Born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, Charlie enjoys reading or working in his indoor garden when not in the office.
Starting his career with a summer job at his father’s residential construction company in Boston, Jesse graduated from college in 1994 and promptly moved to Seattle. Following work with a commercial construction company and some experience as a Project Manager for a homebuilder, Jesse joined the PPI Group’s sales team in 2002. Initially in Geomatics, he transitioned to Autodesk design products after a few years and today as the Director of Software Sales he manages the PPI Group’s partnership with Autodesk. Jesse enjoys living in Seattle with his wife and their three children and remains a steadfast fan of sports teams from his hometown.
Joseph has a Bachelor of Science in Geography with an emphasis in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He also holds an MBA emphasizing process improvement methodology such as Six Sigma. His experience in construction layout and survey has aided him in his current role as a construction technology product manager. In addition, he is currently a member of the PPI BIM Team. His focus surrounds Building Information Modeling (BIM) and building strategic partnerships by introducing and advising customers in Autodesk software, implementation, workflows and processes. He is a devoted husband and father. When he is not enjoying the pacific northwest with his family you can find him remodeling his house or hanging out in his wood shop.
Kevin is a Senior Application Specialist, Speaker and Consultant for the PPI Group, a Topcon Solutions Store. There, Kevin pulls from over 20 years of experience (e.g. field and certified instruction) as he proudly specializes in the technical development of countless individuals, private firms and government agencies. Combining Autodesk’s highest level of certifications with his unique teaching style, Kevin has become the Northwest’s most sought out Autodesk instructor in the implementation of Civil 3D, Template customization and work flow advisement. In addition, he has lent his expertise to innumerable speaking engagements including, local user groups, AUGI CAD Camps, various state conferences and Autodesk University. When not traveling, Kevin, enjoys dabbling in art, exploring nature’s offerings and restoring all that is old.
Curt worked 17 years at Autodesk, Inc. as a Technical Account Manager, working with large customers in the AEC and Utilities industries before coming to work at The PPI Group. His former experience also includes BIM lead at Critigen, LLC - a consulting services company and as CAD Production Manager at a full service AEC firm. Curt earned a Master of Architecture degree, Bachelor of Architecture degree, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and Planning from the University of Idaho.
David served 9 years in the Indiana Army National Guard with two deployments to Afghanistan before achieving his Associates degree in Design Technology. He has a passion for learning and teaching and strives every day to increase his own knowledge in order to share with others. Prior to moving to the NW David gained his experience with Autodesk Revit while employed with a Northwest Indiana Architectural firm. He and his wife along with their four children are enjoying exploring their new surroundings in Oregon & Washington.
Sean has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Portland State University and an Associate degree in Microelectronics. He brings 10 years of practical civil design/drafting experience to the PPI team. Skilled in the use of AutoCAD Land Development Desktop and Civil 3D, Sean also has been working with basic AutoCAD since version R13 in the early 90's. His focus at PPI will be customer support and instruction.
Formerly with Autodesk®, Doug’s expertise includes over a decade of experience in the Autodesk® support industry. His strong background supporting and teaching on Networking and Installation, as well as several Autodesk product lines make him invaluable to The PPI Group and our clients. He has been a speaker at several Autodesk events and user groups and most recently the technical lead for PPI Group’s Software Asset Management Team.
Vinnie has a LEED GA with an Associates Degree in Construction Management and an Associates Degree in Clean Energy Technology. He brings over 20 years’ experience in building from pre-construction to close out in general contracting and civil construction. Vinnie started using Revit 2014 and quickly became passionate about the product and how it streamlines the design and construction process. Vinnie is a lifelong learner and pursues opportunities to increase his knowledge base. Training experience includes OSHA safety for manufacturing, Emergency Medical Technician skills training and Motorcycle Safety Workshops.
As a graduate from ITT Technical School of Drafting and Design, Paul Stuva has a developed eye for detail and a solid appreciation for good design. In his role Paul manages all incoming technical support working with a full technical team to offer field-to-finish solutions for Autodesk and Topcon product lines. His area of specialty is software installation, licensing and troubleshooting. Paul currently resides in Portland, Oregon and spends his time outside of work practicing carpentry and looking for projects wherever he can find them (his wife’s “honey-do” list is never enough).
